About Steve brown

Based in Lakewood, Colorado, Steve has been creating metal art and fabrication projects for over 10 years.  What started as hobby when he first bought an oxy-acetylene torch on a whim evolved into an increasingly sophisticated and distinctive style that expresses his own artistic vision.  He has enjoyed increasing success exhibiting at various art shows and galleries in Colorado.  Steve also has experience teaching metalworking classes that encourage students to explore their own artistic vision.

VISION

The central theme of Steve's work is the realistic translation of nature into metal.  This vision has grown over the past ten years into a distinctive and entirely original style.   His technique mimics the look and feel of natural subjects while retaining the nature of various metals.  Therefor coloring and finishes in most pieces are minimal.  Much of the work is display friendly wall art, and has evolved into increasingly three dimensional compositions.
